Media Works - E-Learning & Storyboards

Instructional Design for E-Learning or Gaming have common threads. For E-Learning, a topic or story line is defined, needs assessment, learner assessment, platform delivery, applications, media resources available and production staff to complete the finished product. Once all these things have been addressed, the creative process can begin.

Story boarding allows for you to organize the creative and instructional process. Some prefer to do this by hand while others on various applications. I prefer to do it in PowerPoint, as the outlines can be dropped into Captivate or Articulate saving time and money. Sharing is also much easier with others on the team, as they can easily add to them in the collaboration process. I have worked with multiple formats, here are some examples.

Note: Using PowerPoint is a good jumping off point, but you don’t want it to look like an old school presentation, knowing how to use all the assets in PowerPoint with Great Instructional Design can produce some amazing and affordable E-Learning modules.

Learning Module "Buy or Rent"

Flash of Lesson of Module

This is post story board, pre production piece. I like to use PowerPoint for Story Boarding from the get go or use it in the second stage of collaboration.

Final Post Production had 4 learning modules, done in Captivate and PowerPoint

Im fast, did in one day including 25 audio files.  Of course I was not the final narrator, music has not been added and this is not the final product but gives you an idea how I work and how fast..
